New World Screwworm Information

The New World screwworm (NWS) is a devastating pest of livestock, wild, and domestic animals. It is a type of fly that lays eggs in the wounds of living warm-blooded animals. The fly larvae (maggots) borrow into the wound as they feed, causing painful serious damage. It was recently detected in the United States.
